Grant Description: In 2008, SB Unified School District established The Academy for Success at Dos Pueblos High School to help students identified as being high risk for dropping out of school. The program provides academic support, career skills and mental health services. This grant pays for a large portion of the Academy’s mental health budget during the school year 2016-17, as the program expands from serving 25 students at one high school to serving 200 students at all three high schools. School data to date from the current program shows a two-fold increase in grade point averages, a 95% decline in discipline referrals, a 100% graduation rate and a 92% enrollment in post-secondary schools. Fiscal agent is Santa Barbara Education Foundation.
