Biography

With over 35 years of experience in investment and portfolio management, Angelica is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Investment Counselor. Most recently Angelica served as Chief Investment Officer for the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation. She was an Investment Consultant at the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens, and previous to that position she was Senior Vice President/Portfolio Manager for Provident Investment Counsel and Vice President/Portfolio Manager for Philip V. Swan Associates, Investment Counsel. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Angelica is currently a member of the Scripps College Board of Trustees where she is Chairman of the Investment Committee. She was a member of University of California Berkeley Parent Board, has served as a Board member on the Pasadena Independent Schools Foundation, as a member of the Investment Committee for the Polytechnic School, and as Vice Chair of the Board, Chairman of the Development Committee and Member of the Executive and Finance Committees for the Pacific Oaks College and Children’s School Board of Trustees. Angelica received her B.A. degree in Economics and Political Science from Scripps College. She splits her time between Santa Barbara and Pasadena.

Biography

Barbara has been a member of the Women's Fund since 2008. After graduating from college, she lived for ten years in Milan and London. Returning to Princeton, New Jersey, she worked in commercial real estate, finishing her career as a consultant to start-up biotechnology companies and a founding member of the New Jersey Bioscience Association. After moving to Santa Barbara in 1994, Barbara continued her interest in real estate by serving as vice president on the boards of the Hope Ranch Homeowner's Association and SURF Development Company. SURF is the affordable housing development arm of Santa Barbara County's Housing Authority, whose mission is to provide housing to low income, elderly, and handicapped people. She has served on the Research, Membership, and Volunteer Engagement Committees.

Biography

Eryn Shugart is a Santa Barbara native who holds a doctoral degree in social psychology from Claremont Graduate University. She has worked in senior administration with human services nonprofit organizations throughout the county for the past 20 years in roles including executive director, senior development director, program director, and director of operations. Eryn also worked for Santa Barbara City College, where she helped to establish a healthy aging associates degree and taught classes in healthy aging and psychology.

Eryn has a grown son and daughter and is happy to again live in the house she grew up in. In her spare time, she loves to spend time in the outdoors hiking and biking, and volunteering for other nonprofits.

Jennifer d’Offay brings decades of dedication to education and wellness to inspire all that she does. With 15 years as an elementary school teacher and 25 years as a yoga instructor, she has cultivated a unique approach that blends educational expertise with holistic wellness practices.
Her teaching experience spans diverse settings—from large public classes to private clubs, homes, and corporate offices—where she has developed comprehensive wellness programs for major companies including Google, Pinterest, Levi’s, and Bank of America. She creates transformative sound baths using crystal singing bowls and specializes in making wellness accessible to practitioners of all ages and ability levels.
Jennifer finds deep joy in teaching for charity events, volunteering and fundraising. She enjoys life with her husband, three stepchildren, and their beloved dog Barry.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Kelsey Samuel is the co-owner of SB SOS, a Santa Barbara-based concierge relocation and downsizing company dedicated to helping seniors and their families navigate major life transitions with compassion and expertise. Biography

Kerry joined the Women’s Fund in 2019 after retiring as owner and principal of HollandParlette, an Association Management Company (AMC) based in San Francisco. Since her relocation to Santa Barbara, she has been actively involved in supporting local nonprofits. Throughout her 30+ year career, she served as Executive Director for various regional, state, and national membership organizations. Her expertise includes financial management, board leadership, conferences, grant writing, membership development, communications, advocacy, and public relations. In 1991, she became a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and in 2005, she was awarded a Lifetime Membership in the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). Kerry holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Iowa State University. She has been married for over 40 years to James Parker, and together they have one son who lives in Seattle.

Biography

Lynn rejoined the Women’s Fund in 2018, participating with both the Membership Committee and a Special Projects workgroup. She grew up in Colorado and has a Master’s Degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from Colorado State University. Before moving to Santa Barbara in 1989, she worked in both the Research and Public Affairs Departments of the Kansas City Federal Reserve. She has served in various nonprofit leadership roles in Santa Barbara, including as Board Chair for the Channel Islands YMCA, the Nonprofit Support Center, and The Arts Fund. She was the Vice President for Family Education Services at Independent Means Inc. before taking on the role of Executive Director for the Youth and Family Services YMCA from 2008-2016.

Sallie Coughlin

Biography

Sallie has been a member of the Women's Fund since 2006. She grew up in Santa Barbara and, after receiving her BA from the University of Michigan, moved to New York where she worked for the Interpublic Advertising Agency for over a decade. In her position as Vice President, Account Supervisor she developed and implemented marketing strategies for several national package good brands. Following her advertising career, Sallie worked on Wall Street for many years as an equity trader for Whitenack Associates. Since retiring and returning to Santa Barbara, Sallie has been active in the Pearl Chase Society, as a board member of Summerdance Santa Barbara, and currently as Finance Chair and board member of The Cecilia Fund. She is also on the board of Friends of the Santa Barbara Public Library. Sallie served on the Women's Fund Research Committee for three years, as Co-chair of the 2012-13 Research Committee and as Steering Committee Chair and then Co-Chair from 2013-2014. She now serves on the Membership Committee.

Susan Matsumoto

Biography

After years In the toy industry, including her own packaging design firm in NYC,  Susan Matsumoto  partnered with her husband Mel Kennedy to invent and license inventions for the toy, housewares, hair appliances and accessories industries. The move to Santa Barbara in 2012 was a life-long dream for both of them, and she is now very happy to be involved in the Women’s Fund.
