The Unity Shoppe serves as a critical safety net to keep people in our community fed and clothed. Dedicated to honoring the dignity of all clients, the Unity Shoppe provides for basic needs through a grocery store with fresh and nutritious food and a shop with school supplies and clothing. They also provide exceptional educational programs. The need is great and ever-increasing: in 2024, twice as many clients were served as in 2023. With the $75,000 Women’s Fund grant awarded in May 2024, the Unity Shoppe was able to purchase new refrigeration units and stock them with a six-month supply of nutritious, high-protein foods. Speaking at the event were Angela Miller-Bevan, Executive Director, and Susan Rodriguez, Board Chair. Volunteers led small groups on tours. Members brought donations of small items, such as shelf-stable foods and unwrapped toys.
