Lynette is a Santa Barbara native who returned in 2019 after receiving her B.A. in English from Cal Poly, SLO then raising kids and working for 30 years in Chicago, Los Angeles, Newport Beach and Seattle. She joined the Women’s Fund in 2024 and was welcomed into The Giving Tree. Lynette is a former middle school English teacher and freelance writer whose contributions for companies such as Disney, Mattel and Leap Frog appear on the devices and bookshelves of children, families and teachers worldwide. More recently she entered the New Markets Tax Credit space as a grant writer to support severely distressed cities. Lynette is a committed human rights advocate who volunteers for the United Nations and a resource hotline for transgender youth. For fun she travels near and far, prunes roses at the Mission Rose Garden, and explores the town’s natural and cultural treasures with the Santa Barbara Social Club.
