The Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC), headquartered in Santa Barbara for the last 46 years and with offices throughout the tri-counties, promotes independent living and full accessibility through advocacy, education, and action. The organization works with individuals experiencing all disabilities to achieve their independence goals with an overarching lifework of keeping individuals with disabilities from being isolated and achieving their full independence within the community. This is accomplished through the provision of resources, assistance, and targeted programs to help with all aspects of independence, including: affordable/accessible housing, employment, benefits, transportation, education, personal assistance, assistive technology, peer support, and more. The organization also strives to create systemic change in accessibility and disability culture through advocacy efforts.
