Grants in Action Open House with SB PAL
Women’s Fund Grants In Action cordially invites you to our Learn and Connect event at SB PAL’s Teen Center! Programs at the center strive to build a bridge between cops, kids, and our community through mentorship, leadership, and academic enrichment programs.
The SB PAL’s Teen Center has completed long-needed renovations to improve safety, security, and ADA compliance to make the space more functional and welcoming. They include renovations of the computer room, upgraded bathrooms, and a full kitchen where teens will prepare meals together. The project reflects the passion and designs of SB PAL student Rebecca, who hopes to become an architect, and her community mentor, the noted architect Jesiy Richards.
- Meet and learn from our 2024 grantee, SB PAL, about its completed renovations and excellent programs for teens
- Stop by to join one of the ongoing tours of the newly renovated areas
- Interact with students from the Leadership Council, staff, and PAL police officer mentors
- 5:15-5:30 PM: Listen to remarks by Chief of Police Kelly Gordon; Judie Lugo, Executive Director of SB PAL; Carolyn Jabs, WFSB Board Chair; Jesiy Richards, SB PAL Mentor; and Rebecca Barreto, SB PAL Student Mentee
