Celebrating the Spirit of Giving with Mothers' Helpers, Inc. - A Grants in Action Event

The Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara cordially invites you to our Grants In Action, Learn & Connect event at Mothers’ Helpers, Inc. Join us, as we celebrate community and the spirit of giving. Consider donating diapers and baby wipes and help assemble gift bags for local mothers, bringing them a little extra joy this holiday season.

Mothers’ Helpers is a warm-hearted, community-driven nonprofit that provides newborn essentials—diapers, clothing, cribs, pack-n-plays, and more—to families facing financial hardship. Each year Mothers’ Helpers supports hundreds of local families, stepping in with dignity and love at life’s toughest moments. During the holidays, Mothers’ Helpers gathers items contributed by local businesses and community members to provide gifts for mothers who need a little extra joy.

Thanks to a Women's Fund grant, Mothers’ Helpers is able to pay the salary and benefits of a part-time, bilingual Support Center Coordinator for their Goleta headquarters.

PROGRAM:

  • 5:00pm: Network with WFSB members over wine and light appetizers.
  • 5:15-5:45pm: Attendees will be divided into 2 groups. Group 1 will learn about the program from Michelle Erickson, Executive Director, Mothers’ Helpers, and a local mom, and hear from Carolyn Jabs, Chair, Women’s Fund Board. Group 2 will tour the facility with the recently hired Support Center Coordinator, Luz Diaz, and assemble gift bags, including a personalized note.
  • 5:50-6:20pm: The groups will switch and participate in the other half of the programming.
  • 6:20-6:30pm: Closing and photos.

Parking: Free parking in the lot on Encina Road, behind the Professional Building. Look for volunteers directing traffic when you turn right on Encina Road.

Diaper Drive: If you can, bring a box of diapers (sizes 4, 5, 6 most needed) and baby wipes to donate to Mothers’ Helpers.
